Harvest Days

Harvest Days is an agricultural awareness program offered annually by the Lambton-Kent Ag in the Classroom Committee. The 90-minute activity based and hands-on program is presented twice daily at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. The Campus facilities offer the farm setting which enhances the learning experience for the Grade 3 students. The program has the students visiting 4 stations for a 20-minute session at each station. Curriculum based and designed for grade 3 students, the program is open to all elementary school students in Lambton and Chatham-Kent.

The stations visited by the students include "A Day in the Dairy", "Soil and Seeds", "Early Settlers" and "I Spy - Agriculture". The presenters at each station have a unique and qualified background in the topic they are presenting, keeping the students interested and engaged.

The teachers receive large amounts of teaching resources generously provided by various commodity groups and farm organizations. Samples of soil and seeds are also provided to help enhance the classroom study of this topic.

This fast paced, information packed program is an awesome agricultural experience for all who attend!
