Lambton-Kent Agriculture in the Classroom offers a FREE program to Grade 3 students called Harvest Days. Harvest Days educates students about agriculture by talking about soils, seeds, grains and farm animals. Students explore agriculture through a ninety-minute program, visiting four hands-on stations at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus.
The stations include “Dairy Barn Visit”(Local Dairy Educator/Campus Staff), “Soils and Seeds” (Presenter TBD), “Grains-on-the-Go” (Grain Farmers of Ontario) and “Campus Wagon Ride with a Stop at the Swine Research Facility” (Campus Staff). The presenters at each station have a unique and qualified background on the topic they are presenting, keeping the students interested and engaged.
This fast paced, information packed program is an awesome agricultural experience for all who attend! Please refer to the 2023 Harvest Days Flyer below for further details. You can click here to Register Online.
